What is liner impregnation and why is it important?
Liner impregnation is the process of saturating a CIPP (Cured-in-Place Pipe) liner with resin to prepare it for installation. This step is critical because the quality of impregnation directly impacts the performance, strength, and longevity of the final rehabilitated pipe. At RSM, we ensure consistent, full resin saturation using precision-controlled systems – minimising the possibility of air pockets or dry spots and guaranteeing structural integrity post-cure.
What liner sizes can you handle?
We are equipped to handle a wide range of liner diameters up to 2000mm. Our facility includes the largest impregnation system in the UK, enabling us to meet the demands of even the most complex and large-scale rehabilitation projects. This makes us a go-to provider for contractors needing large-diameter solutions.
What types of resin systems do you offer?
We offer a comprehensive selection of resins to match various pipe conditions and specifications:
• Epoxy Resin Systems – Suitable for hot water or steam curing; known for strength, chemical resistance, and a leak tight finish.
• Polyester Resin Systems – Cost-effective and ideal for standard non-pressure applications.
• Vinylester Resin Systems – Excellent for chemically aggressive environments with superior corrosion resistance.
• UV & UV LED Resin Systems – Option for a leak tight finish. Fast-curing, environmentally controlled systems used in conjunction with UV LED light curing technology.
Each resin is carefully selected and handled to ensure compatibility with your liner and installation method.
Can you provide on-site impregnation support or equipment?
Absolutely. For projects that require impregnation at or near the site, we offer a site impregnation service and technical support. This service is ideal for remote locations or time-sensitive installations where on-site flexibility is critical.
