Hot cure vs UV LED: which CIPP curing method is best?
It depends on the job. Hot water and steam are proven, versatile, and great for longer or larger-diameter liners, whereas UV LED’s space-saving qualities make it a fast, minimal set up ideal for small-diameter pipes, verticals, and tight-access sites. The SpeedyLight+ LED curing system is significantly faster than traditional systems, enabling contractors to vastly increase daily lining productivity. Get in touch with the team and we’ll be happy to advise on the best curing equipment for your requirements.
How does CIPP curing work?
CIPP curing works by solidifying a resin-saturated liner inside a damaged pipe. The liner is inserted and inflated, then cured using heat or UV/UV LED light. This hardens the resin, creating a new pipe within the old one, all without digging.
What are the benefits of UV LED curing systems?
UV LED curing offers faster cure times, lower energy consumption, and compact, all-in-one equipment. It’s especially useful in tight or residential spaces where access is limited. Less setup, cleaner installs, and more control mean quicker turnaround and less disruption.
How can I monitor the curing process during installation?
For hot water or steam curing, we developed VeriCure. This innovative monitoring system uses fibre-optic Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) to track the liner’s temperature along its entire length in real time, allowing you to identify and fix issues on the spot. For UV LED, our SpeedyLight+ VX and SpeedyLight+ systems comes with an integrated CCTV camera in the curing head to real-time monitoring during operations.
